Porsha Jones,
MA, AMFT
Eating Disorder & Trauma Therapist
More about Porsha
Welcome—I’m Porsha, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in eating disorders and trauma. Over the years, I’ve supported women and families in treatment centers and community settings. My work blends traditional talk therapy with body-based healing to support deep, lasting change.
My Approach
I use evidence-based practices such as Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Alongside these methods, I incorporate mind-body connection and embodiment practices. Together, this integrative approach helps clients process trauma, develop insight, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.
Why I Do This Work
This work is personal to me. I’ve faced my own challenges with trauma, disordered eating, and body image. Because of that, I know how powerful it can be to combine therapeutic tools with compassion and presence. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where healing feels possible and hope feels real.
My Training
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I’ve received advanced training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
In addition to trauma and eating disorders, I work with clients navigating:
Anxiety and depression
Grief and loss
Emotional regulation
Perfectionism
Intergenerational trauma
Relationship struggles
Self-discovery and personal growth
A Bit About Me
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time in nature, going to live music events, reading, and growing my plant collection. I also love quiet moments—whether I’m meditating or diving into creative projects.
How We Can Work Together
I offer therapy both in person and via telehealth for clients across Southern California. I also work with clients throughout California through virtual sessions.
Wherever you are in your journey, I’m honored to walk beside you.
"I combine evidence-based therapy with body-centered healing to support women and families recovering from eating disorders and trauma. My work is rooted in personal experience, clinical training, and a belief in the power of compassion."
